The CAT Exam format is changing every year, so we can’t predict the format, so please do not involve yourself in thinking about the format of the Exam. Here are some useful tips for you while preparing for CAT.
1. Make a plan for the preparation:
If everything is planned the possibility of getting success increases. Make a plan for your target CAT Exam from selecting appropriate study material up to assigning importance to each topic. The plan should be easy to follow and should not bring stress on your mind. So be careful while planning.
2. Give first priority to output oriented study:
Instead of giving extra attention towards easy and favorite topics, prepare each and every difficult topic according to the syllabus. Please do not skip any topic while studying. Skipping the topic may result into degradation of your CAT score.
3. Use each and every minute of time you have given for study in a day:
Honesty automatically brings concentration in your studies. So be honest while doing your study. Give sufficient and flexible hours in a day for preparation. How many hours you are giving for study is not the important thing where as how much you are capturing in a day through your studies is the important thing. Therefore instead of assigning hours to the topics, assign the topic to the hours.
4. Practice brings perfection in us:
Instead of restricting yourself for single study material, go through variety of study materials. Collect the question papers, mock tests of CAT Exam. Do not solve test paper unless you think that your study is towards completion. After complete study, do the practice of solving test papers which will give you experience and will make you fearless.
5. Increase your adaptability:
We all have read one rule of environment in the book of Biology that ‘Adaptable organisms can survive themselves in the environment’. We think that not only in biological environment but also all other fields the rule of adaptability is applicable. Therefore the essential thing to crack the CAT Exam is to become adaptable for any format of question paper. So while practicing the test papers, solve the papers having variable formats. And try to solve maximum number of questions in less time.
